Walk your dog for a cause.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau will host a dog walking fundraiser at the university. Registration begins at 11 a.m. at Cedar Dell Field, located by the wind turbine at the 285 Old Westport Road campus, and the walk begins at 11:30 a.m. Dogs are invited to attend. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society and Shelter-SouthCoast. Get your laughs from a fall play.

The Bishop Stang Theatre Company will open its fall play, Play on! by Rock Abbot, with a showing at 7 p.m. at Bishop Stang High School. General admission tickets are $10 for adults, and $7 for students and seniors. An additional showing is scheduled for November 12 at 2 p.m. The comedy follows the struggles of a theatre group trying to organize a play despite an ever-changing script, malfunctions and errors, and romantic intrigue. Head to a concert.

Old time string band The Mud Daubers will perform in the Paskamansett Concert Series at the Dartmouth Grange, 1133 Fisher Road, at 7:30 p.m. The band will perform a mixture of contemporary covers and original music in the genre. General admission is $15; $12 for children under 18, seniors 60 and over, and college students; and $35 for family admission.
