Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary hosting fundraiser at tree farm

Nov 20, 2017

The Powel Tree Farm and Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary are teaming up to offer locally grown trees for the holiday season to benefit the sanctuary.

On December 3, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., 100 percent of all tree sales made will be donated to the sanctuary. In addition to trees, greens and other holiday items will also be up for sale, and food will be on hand to enjoy.

Trees are $50 each. One tree and one bunch of greens is $75; and one tree, one bunch of greens, and an entry of five rubber ducks to next year’s Allens Pond Duck Derby is $100.

Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted. Those purchasing trees are asked to bring a hand saw and rope and tie-downs to carry trees home. Those who cannot bring their trees home on the fundraising day can pick a tree during the event hours on December 3 and come back on December 9 between 10-11 a.m. to pick the tree up.

Call the Allens Pond field station at (508) 636-2437, email allenspond@massaudubon.org, or visit massaudubon.org for more information.

The Powel Tree Farm is located on Jordan Road in South Dartmouth.
