Louis John "Louie" Martin, 24, of Dartmouth, passed away on November 17, 2017.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Nicole Charbonneau Martin of Brooksville, FL and John L. Martin of Dartmouth, he lived in Acushnet and Dartmouth for most of his life.

Louie was formerly employed as a line cook at the Back Eddy in Westport.

He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, where he played varsity basketball and other sports. He later attended Bristol Community College. Throughout the years, he was active in programs at the Burgo Basketball Association Complex.

He is survived by his parents; his stepmother, Donna Martin of Dartmouth; his siblings, Jaclyn Parreira and her husband Brandon of Brooksville, Nicholas John Martin of Hartford, CT, and Sarah Laura Martin of Joplin, MO; his stepbrothers, Jason Oliveira of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Oliveira and his wife Meghan of Moscow, Russia, and Craig Oliveira of Concord, MA; his grandfather, Gaston Charbonneau of Florida; his nephews and nieces, Jaidyn Parreira, Daxxton Burns, Scarlet Oliveira, and Anastasia Oliveira; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burgo Basketball Association in memory of Louis Martin, 311 Bakerville Road, Dartmouth, MA 02748-1115.
