Dartmouth's three newest police officers already know the town quite well, because they are all local.

During the November 27 Select Board meeting, Acting Chief Brian Levesque introduced Joseph Hilchey, Adam Rego, and Michael Carreiro. The three graduated from the Plymouth Police Academy on November 15, and will now join the ranks of the Dartmouth Police Department.

Carreiro, 28, has lived in Dartmouth for 22 years, graduated from Dartmouth High School and attended Bristol Community College. In his time at the academy, he recieved top marks in an emergency vehicle operator course.

Hilchey, 24, is also a graduate of Dartmouth High School, a U.S. Marine Corps reservist, and a recognized guidon bearer for his proficiency in drills and ceremonies.

Rego, 25, is a graduate of Bishop Stang High School and Plymouth State University. He has a background in criminal justice computing and criminal statistics databases.

After introductions, each new officer was sworn in by Town Clerk Lynn Medeiros.
