Holiday events and donation drives at the Senior Center

Dec 12, 2017

The Dartmouth Council on Aging will host its holiday party on December 15 at 12 p.m. at the 628 Dartmouth Street Senior Center.

The annual holiday party will feature "Misgivings," a divine comedy by comedian Dave Kane.

Kane takes on the role of Father Patrick Aloysius Misgivings, an Irish Catholic priest, for his performance. The show features stories and humorous one-liners about growing up in a Catholic family. Father Misgivings touches upon topics ranging from miracles to marriage counseling to bazaars and birth control.

Tickets are $5 in advance; contact the Council on Aging at (508) 999-4717 or visit the front desk.

The Council on Aging will also host a clinic on how to deal with the stress of the holiday season on December 29, 10 a.m. as part of the center's Health Topic program. Walk-ins are welcome.

The Senior Center is also collecting donations for several causes. The center is hosting a sock drive to benefit the Sole Foot Clinic at Mercy Meals. New adult socks can be dropped off in a bin located in the Senior Center lobby.

Donations are also needed to stock the center's food pantry. As growing season is over, the center relies on non-perishable food items during this time of year. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at the center. Cash donations are also accepted.
