Rev. Adrien D. Picard, 89

The Rev. Adrien D. Picard, 89, of Dartmouth, passed away on December 7, 2017 at Catholic Memorial Home.

He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Urban) Picard.

Mr. Picard was born in Fall River, a son of the late Adrien and Beatrice M. (Ducharme) Picard. A veteran of World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army.

In 1973, he was ordained as a deacon in Washington, D.C. and later served in the Fall River Diocese. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an economist for the U.S. Labor Department.

Survivors include his brother, Raymond V. Picard of Fall River; five sisters, Annette Ford of Westport, Marthe Ratcliffe of Fall River, Sister Therese Picard, RJM of Wellesley Hills, MA, Marie Brogan of Tiverton and Marguerite Picard of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Louise Roy.

Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 11 a.m.

Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45 p.m.
