Town accepting applications for homebuyer assistance program

Jan 10, 2018

The Town of Dartmouth is accepting applications for its Homebuyer Assistance Purchase Program.

The program offers grants to income and asset-qualified first-time homebuyers in Dartmouth. It is intended to finance the gap between the affordable and selling prices of existing homes in Dartmouth.

One grant of up to $110,000 for a two-bedroom home or $150,000 for a three-bedroom home is available.

Income limits do apply, and applicants must secure approval for a mortgage loan and submit evidence of availability of funds for a down payment with a complete application. The resale price and use of homes purchased through the program is subject to restrictions.

Applications will be accepted until June 26, 2018 or until funds are exhausted. Applications are available at Town Hall, 400 Slocum Road, and at the Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street.
