The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will hold its 16th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast at the main campus Woodland Commons, 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tickets are $25 for staff, faculty, and the public. The Dartmouth Police Department and AAA Northeast are teaming up to host a driver safety program for older drivers at the Senior Center, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. During the program, officers will discuss changes seniors need to consider in maintaining safe driving skills. Topics will include reason driving skills deteriorate with age, and strategies for accommodating or overcoming those changes and challenges with an emphasis on keeping seniors behind the wheel for as long as possible as safely as possible.For more information, contact the Council on Aging at (508) 999-4717.

Author Maureen Boyle will visit the Southworth Library to talk about her book on the New Bedford highway killings at 7 p.m. Boyle, a former Standard-Times reporter, is the author of Shallow Graves: The Hunt for the New Bedford Highway Serial Killer. Seating is limited, and free reservation tickets are available at the Southworth Library. Call (508) 999-0726 ext. 1 to reserve tickets. With a $16 donation to the Friends, a copy of the book will be provided.

The Westport Land Conservation Trust and the Trustees of Reservations are teaming up to host an annual Super Bowl Walk, 11 a.m. beginning at Slocum’s River Reserve. Hikers will travel six miles from the reserve trailhead to the Westport River in Westport. The hike will end at Westport Rivers Winery, 17 Hixbridge Road, where discounted wine and beer by the glass will be available. A bus will bring hikers back to the parking lot. Parking is at Sylvan Nursery, located across the street from the reserve. No overflow parking will be allowed, and hikers must register in advance. There is a cap on attendance. Cukie Macomber will be the featured guest at a Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society lecture, 2:30 p.m. at the 1205 Russells Mills Road headquarters. The centenarian and long-time resident of the area will will give a talk on growing up in a small coastal Westport village. A $5 donation is recommended. This event was previously scheduled for January 7 and 14 but was cancelled due to weather.
