Doris Rose (LeBlanc) Borges, 95, passed away on February 8, 2018 at Hathaway Manor in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Albert Borges.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Donat and Julia (Gregoire) LeBlanc, she had resided in New Bedford for the majority of her life and lived in South Dartmouth for 28 years before moving to her son's home in Westport.

She was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School, class of 1939. Mrs. Borges had worked in the textile industry for 37 years as a stitcher at Mass Shirt and Cliftex.

She is survived by her son, Michael Borges and his wife Catherine; three grandchildren, Valerie Borges and her fiancé Alan Desmarais, Christine Isidoro and her husband Matthew and Steven Borges and his wife Tonya all of Westport. She was the mother of the late David Borges; step-daughter of the late Jeanette LeBlanc Patenaude; and sister of the late George LeBlanc.

Her funeral will be on February 13, 9 a.m. from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave, Westport. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, New Bedford.
