Scientist to speak about communication among ocean animals

UMass Dartmouth will host Dr. Christopher W. Clark for a lecture on animal communication on April 13 at noon in the Grand Reading Room of Claire T. Carney Library.

Clark is a professor and scientist at Cornell University.He will be discussing his work regarding animal communication and the impact human behavior has on it. Dr. Clark helped develop and apply advanced acoustic technology to record and analyze the sounds of wildlife around the globe.

His talk is entitled The Singing Planet: Why Listen to the Ocean?

Clark will specifically discuss the effects human behavior has on ocean creatures and why people should stop and listen to the ocean.
