StoryWalk program to begin May 1

Apr 29, 2018

Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust is combining hiking and reading through special StoryWalks at two of its reserves.

From May 1 to June 1, StoryWalks will be in place at Ridge Hill Reserve on Collins Corner Road and Paskamansett Woods on Chase Road.

The self-guided walks include laminated pages from children's books attached to wooden stakes along the trails, allowing hikers to discover the next page in the story as they progress the trail.

Paskamansett Woods includes Sheep Take a Hike by Nancy Shaw, which is about a group of sheep that stray off course during a hike and go on an adventure. Over the Meadow by Paul Caldone is an old nursery poem that introduces animals and their young through counting. It is at Ridge Hill Reserve.
