Dartmouth boys lacrosse moves on in postseason play

Jun 7, 2018

It was a night full of goals for almost every Dartmouth High boys lacrosse player after the team beat the Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical Craftsmen 13-2 in the first round of the Div. 2 South lacrosse tournament on Wednesday.

The 10th seeded Indians, in its first ever matchup against the 7th seeded Craftsmen, saw all but three athletes score at least one point. It was also Head Coach Peter Crane's first postseason win.

“We came in pretty prepared for a battle,” Crane said. “We jumped on them right away.”

Faceoffs were dominated with Indian wins, with Will Cote at the front of the pack with all but one of 16 faceoff wins. He also topped the night off by netting two goals and assisting a third.

Leading the way in goals were seniors Dane Ashton and Max Stone with three each. Ashton was the player of the game with six assists. Stone walked away with two assists.

Also adding to the win was goalie Charlie Gamache, who stopped 15 out 17 shots on goal for a .882 save percentage.

“He played tremendously,” Crane said. “He cleared the ball very well and communicated with the defensive very well.”

The Indians' next game is Friday at 6 p.m. against Scituate at Scituate High School. The high school is located at 606 Chief Justice Cushing Highway.
