A Dartmouth man wanted on several warrants was arrested on June 24 after a traffic stop.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. Dartmouth Police officer Colby Cusson stopped a car traveling near the Stop & Shop plaza on Faunce Corner Road after reports of a person driving erratically. During the investigation Cusson discovered the passenger, 31-year-old Lupe Martinez, had five outstanding warrants.

Martinez then allegedly fled from the vehicle and the K-9 unit was called in to help locate him. Officer Jared White and his K-9 partner, Reaper, established a track. Eventually Martinez was located in the woods behind Lowe’s.

Martinez was then transported to the Dartmouth Police Headquarters to be booked, where he also received medical attention for scratches he got while running through brush.
