Art Drive coming up this weekend

Twenty Dartmouth artists will be included in this year's Art Drive Open Studio tour, taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 10 through 12. In addition to the general open studios, some Dartmouth artists will be giving demonstrations and talks.

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, ceramics artist Wendy Goldsmith will be demonstrating her hand-building process and discussing how she develops her ideas at her studio at 224 Gaffney Road. At 3 p.m., ceramics artist Beverly Carter will discuss the Saggar firing process, along with its materials and origin.

On Sunday, three Dartmouth artists will be giving demonstrations and talks. At 11 a.m., Deb Ehrens will teach visitors how to take better pictures on their iPhones, using built in features of the camera like exposure and focus along with composition to tell strong stories at her studio at 24 Sunset Lane. At 1 p.m., Janice Kissinger will demonstrate her unique felting process and discuss the history of the medium in her studio at 211 Little River Road. At 3 p.m., watercolor painter Peggy Call-Conley will be discussing how to set up a plein air outdoor studio at 30 Little River Road.
