Help out the DNRT at work parties

The Dartmouth Natural Reserve Trust is hosting a series of work parties at its reserves throughout the month of October. Please wear pants and closed-toe shoes. Tools, snacks, and coffee will be provided at each event.

On October 4 from 1 to 4 p.m., help out at the Frank Knowles/Little River Reserve at 701 Potomska Rd. by installing boards on wet sections of the Red trail, clearing out vegetation at the foundations, and cleaning up the parking lot.

On October 10 from 9 a.m. to noon, help out at Smith Farm, 355 Smith Neck Rd, by staining the observation platform, removing invasive plants, and prepare the trails for the Haunted Hike.

On October 16 from 1 to 4 p.m., come to the Ocean View Farm Reserve at 28 Allens Neck Rd to stain the observation platform and remove invasive plants and trash.

On October 19 from 9 a.m. to noon, there will be a work party at Ridge Hill on Collins Corner Road. Participants will help with trail maintenance.

On October 24 at the Parsons Reserve, 50 Horseback Rd., help brush mow the fields and maintain trails from 9 a.m. to noon.

On October 30, help prepare for the trail race at Destruction Brook Woods, 205 Slades Corner Rd, from 9 a.m. to noon.
