Natural gas company conducting work in the Reed Road area
Natural gas officials are advising residents that a controlled release of odorized natural gas will occur in Dartmouth on April 4 and 5.
According to a notice sent to the town, Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC will conduct the release at its G-3-1 valve site, which is located in the area of Butterfly Trail and Reed Road in North Dartmouth.
Officials state noise or odors might be noticed during the work, and that if this happens there is no cause for alarm or danger being posed to the public.
The company has notified local police, fire, and municipal departments about the work.
Residents with questions or concerns should direct them to the Dighton operations office at (508) 669-5471 or the Westwood operations office at (508) 938-7700 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Or call the Enbridge Gas Control 24-hour hotline at 1 (800) 726-8383.
