Historical commission to discuss future of old police station July 10
The Dartmouth Historical Commission will host a public hearing on July 10 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the future of the old police station on Russells Mills Road in South Dartmouth. The hearing will be held in room 315 at the Dartmouth Town Hall.
The old police station on Russells Mills Road, once used as the Town Hall, is slated to be demolished, along with two garage structures to the rear. The purpose of the public hearing on July 10 is to discuss options for rehabilitating and reusing the building or demolishing it and rebuilding or redeveloping the site. The old police station was built in 1926 and was originally Dartmouth’s third town hall.
