Sprout knowledge and volunteer for the pilot tree inventory program
The Dartmouth Tree Committee is seeking volunteers to help with its pilot tree inventory program, which launches this summer.
Join committee members in starting a record of Dartmouth’s public trees.
At its May meeting, Adam Korejwa, the committee member leading this effort, highlighted the benefits of such a record, which includes helping identify threats to the trees, such as pathogens or insects, as well as making tree management and long term planning easier.
The program will take place this July and August, focusing on three Dartmouth sites.
Volunteers will collect information, including location, species, size as well as pictures as possibly more.
No prior knowledge or experience is necessary to volunteer.
Those interested should contact Korejwa at akorejwa@yahoo.com.
