Louella L. (Valerio) Lucas, 76, of South Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Melvin B. Lucas, Jr., they shared 46 years of marriage.

Mrs. Lucas was born in Falmouth, daughter of the late John and Mary (Brown) Valerio and had resided in South Dartmouth since 1985. Prior to retirement, she worked as a dietary aide for St. Luke's Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors along with her husband include her son: Richard Bauer of North Stonington, CT; along with 2 nieces.

She was the mother of the late Melvin B. Lucas III and sister of the late Corinne Zelenka and Barbara Scherling.

Private services under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, Westport.
