Nine Dartmouth residents are participating in the 2025 Jimmy Fund Walk  to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on Sunday, Oct. 5.

The Dartmouth residents are Matthew Parsons, Jennifer K. Czapiga, Michael Russell, Catherine Russell, Meagan Hudon, Catherine DeSilva, Rachel Jorge, Nancy DeSousa and Jillian Wheaton.

They are joining thousands of others on this annual walk. The goal this year is to raise $9.5 million for adult and pediatric care and research.

The walk takes place on the same route as the Boston Marathon, and participants can choose from 4 distance options— 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon. All routes end at the Jimmy Fund Walk Finish Line. People can participate virtually and walk wherever they wish.

Walkers will be supported by staff at refueling stations and cut outs of Walk Heroes displayed along the course.

“For 36 years, the Jimmy Fund Walk has been a cornerstone of support for lifesaving cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber," said Caitlin Fink, vice president of The Jimmy Fund, "Every participant contributes directly to advancing lifesaving research and critically important cancer care. Walk Day is more than just an event—it's a celebration of hope and the shared commitment of the Jimmy Fund community.”
