Events in October at the Council on Aging

The Dartmouth Council on Aging has October all planned out, with seasonal and everyday fun.
Get into the mood for autumn with some apple picking at Young Family Farm with the van leaving the center at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The event costs $5.
They will be having a group walk around the Paskamansett Woods on Thursday, Oct. 16 with the van leaving at 9:30 a.m from the center. The event is free and transportation is provided. Guests are asked to bring water and appropriate shoes.
On Monday, Oct. 20, with the van leaving for Boston at 8:30 a.m. from the center and going until 4 p.m., there will be a Boston Duck tour. This event costs $28, and includes a narrated tour in a WWII amphibious vehicle that travels on land and water.
“Airforce Elites: Thunderbirds,” a movie that goes into detail about the air force flight team pilots known as thunderbirds, will be shown on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at the center.
Finish up the holiday season with the Council on Aging’s costume contest on Friday, Oct. 31 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the center. The event is $5, and includes refreshments and entertainment by New Wave Rhythm DJ. There are prizes for the best costume.
Registration is required for all events. Registration for events begins on Oct. 1 for Dartmouth residents and Oct. 7 for others. The Council on Aging is located in the Maria Connor Center for Active at 628 Dartmouth Street.
