Sep 24, 2025

U.S. News and World Report has released the 2026 College Ranking, and UMass Dartmouth did well.

UMass Dartmouth placed 242nd for Best National Universities and 136th for public universities. These stats mean they are the highest ranked public New England university with fewer than 10,000 students.

The university also ranked 110th out of all institutions on social mobility, the second highest out of all the public New England universities.

Their Bachelor of Science in Nursing program rose 15 spots since last year, ranking 59th out of 686, meaning it is in the top 9% of U.S. programs.

The undergraduate psychology program is in the top 22%, ranking 152nd, which was an 82 spot rise in the past two years.

The engineering program is now the fourth highest ranked program compared to other public New England universities. It ranked 136th, having risen 74 spots in the past two years.

The Charlton School of Business placed in the top 200 undergraduate programs at 194th place. It is in the top 37% of programs and ranked 125th out of all public universities.

“These rankings reflect the extraordinary value of a UMass Dartmouth education and the dedication of our community," said UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Mark  Fuller.
