4 sports leagues to join over the summer
As the summer season approaches, there are plenty of skills clinics, summer sports camps, and leagues for your kids to build their sports skills. Here’s a roundup of several now accepting sign-ups in Dartmouth.
Sidekick Soccer Academy
Sidekick Soccer Academy offers two soccer programs at the Dartmouth Youth Soccer Association Fields next to the high school. The organization’s College Soccer Prep 7-v-7 league includes a frosh/JV, varsity, and college/open team for ages 13-19+, and covers a minimum of six games, plus playoffs. It is $75 per player and runs from July 10-August 10.
The organization also offers a summer vacation clinic, August 7-10. The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 4-14. Morning, half-day, and full-day sessions are offered with prices ranging from $105 for the morning program to $225 for the full-day package.

Burgo Basketball Association
The youth basketball association offers two basketball camps, July 10-14 or July 24-28 for kids in grades K-12. Visit bbabasketball.com to register for these camps.
Dartmouth Parks and Recreation
Dartmouth Parks and Recreation offers classes and programs in tennis, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, and golf.
"Fun on the Court" is a seven-week tennis program that teaches basic tennis moves and core game fundamentals. It runs Mondays through Thursdays from June 26-August 10 at Dartmouth High School for ages 5-9. The fee is $55.
The town offers several stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking programs, ranging from three-day paddlesports programs to one-day introductions to kayaking.
Golf classes begin on June 27 and are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays until July 20. Open to children between the ages of 7-13, the one-hour lessons are taught by a professional golfer. The fee is $90.

University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
The university will host its New England All Star Basketball Camp from June 26-30 and July 17-21. The cost is $200 not including lunch and $230 including lunch. Open to kids from ages 8-17, the program teaches basic basketball skills and a healthy dose of competition. It is led by the university's head basketball coach, Brian Baptiste.
