Avis Anne (Ainsworth) Clay, age 94, died on April 14, 2022 at Keystone Place of Buzzards Bay. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald R. Clay. Born in Fall River to Raymond W. and Anne M. (Reed) Ainsworth, she was raised along with her brother, the late Raymond W. Ainsworth. 

 

Survivors include her three children: her son, Peter and his wife Rebecca Belastock of Falmouth, her daughter, Joan Perkins and her husband Alan of New Bedford, and her daughter, Amy Card and her husband Matt of Middleboro. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Daniel Clay, Annie Perkins, Timothy Clay, David Card, Molly Card, and Andrew Card. She also leaves two great-grandchildren, Harper Lee Clay and Isla Marie Clay, as well as several nieces, nephews, and valued friends.

 

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home from 4-7 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Middleboro at 1:30 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
