Blanche C. (Allen) Sykes, 92, of Stephenville, TX formerly of Dartmouth and Cape Cod, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Oakwood Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Sykes.

Blanche was born in New Bedford, MA in 1927 the only daughter of the late George and Mildred (Vaughn) Allen.

She grew up on a dairy farm in Dartmouth, MA helping to attend to the animals. She married Thomas Sykes in 1946 after he got out of the Navy. They then moved to Cape Cod due to his job promotion. She started working in the banking industry and worked her way up to Assistant Vice President in lending and branch management, an accomplishment she was very proud of.

Blanche retired after 25 years. She always loved children, family, friends and animals. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, family cookouts, reading, history and Bible studies.

Survivors include her daughter: Kathleen H. Culberson of Stephenville, TX; her son: Jeffrey T. Sykes of Punta Gorda, FL; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Timothy A. Sykes and great grandmother of the late Brock Sykes.

Graveside service was held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Davis Cemetery, Dartmouth.
