Bridge Street market in the works
The Select Board approved a package goods store license during Monday night’s meeting for the property on 7-9 Bridge Street.
The property will become a 6,800 square foot, two-story building. The first floor will be used for retail space and a market. The second floor will be used for three condominiums.
“The market is going to sell ready-made meals. They’ll be some dried goods, breads, cheeses,” said attorney Peter Bullard, representing the location’s manager, John Lofberg.
The building will also have a deli counter and serve coffee, tea and pastries. There will be a small patio for about 12 outdoor seats and 33 seats inside.
The package good store license would enable the market to sell bottled wine or six packs of beer. Customers would not be able to consume liquor inside the market, however.
Bullard said that construction will begin after the building permit is secured, which he is in the process of attaining.
