The 13th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride kicks off on October 6 with routes starting in Little Compton, RI, Westport, and Rochester and ending at Woods Hole on the Cape.

The ride offers some of the most scenic cycling in New England with 100-mile, 75-mile, or 35-mile routes that wind past coastal farmlands, windswept beaches, cranberry bogs, and picturesque harbors between Rhode Island and Cape Cod.

All routes end together at a finish line celebration in Woods Hole overlooking Buzzards Bay.

The Watershed Ride is a safe, fully supported event for cyclists of all abilities. SAG wagons provide on-the-road maintenance and first aid to cyclists in need.

At three rest stops, riders can enjoy food, beverages, snacks, and bike support. And at the finish line, riders celebrate their accomplishments with dinner, drinks, live music, and complimentary massages. Shuttles are available for riders who need transportation before or after the ride.

Registration fee includes five water stops, a hearty food truck lunch, a post-ride dinner buffet with beer, wine, and live music.

Each rider also receives a t-shirt and a signature 2019 "Bike for Clean Water" finisher's pint glass, plus additional swag for top fundraisers and teams.

Cyclists fundraise to protect clean water by supporting the Buzzards Bay Coalition’s work across land protection, science, advocacy, and education. Team participation is welcome and encouraged.

Participants must be 12 or older, and must raise at least $300 for the event.

A 30-mile training ride will take place on September 22, going from Apponagansett Park in Dartmouth to Horseneck Beach in Westport and back.
