Dartmouth police officers are wing-eating champions

Mar 31, 2019

For the second year running, the Dartmouth Police Department secured the title of wing-eating champions.

Five officers from the department competed in the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County’s annual Wing Eating Contest.

The event, held at White’s of Westport on March 28, drew first responders and law enforcement officers from across the county. EMS, police, state police, fire, corrections officers, and officials from the Bristol County District Attorney's office were all represented.

The Dartmouth officers took first place after competing in the final round against the Fall River Fire Department and Somerset Police Department.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County.

The non-profit agency assists children and families impacted by abuse and violence. The organization has a major fundraiser coming up, the Race to End Child Abuse Kentucky Derby Day Gala. It will be held on May 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Rachel's Lakeside. Tickets are $125 each.
