Dartmouth student recognized as ‘most improved’

Dartmouth High School senior McKenzie Pelletier has been named the recipient of the 2025 Maryada Award for Most Improved, an honor recognizing her academic growth, perseverance and commitment to her future.

Pelletier, who plans to study Diagnostic Medical Sonography at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy to become a radiologist, has shown exceptional progress during her high school years. She boosted her GPA while taking on rigorous honors courses in science and math, all while balancing her roles as a varsity softball player and artist.

Beyond the classroom, Pelletier served as a teacher’s aide, offering support to younger students, and completed her graduation requirements early — a testament to her drive and resilience in the face of personal challenges, according to the organization.

The award was presented during a ceremony on Wednesday, May 21, at Dartmouth High School, by Dr. Bal Ram Singh, president of the Maryada Family Foundation. Since 2016, the foundation has honored students nominated by teachers and counselors who demonstrate notable academic improvement.

Each 2025 recipient received a $500 check and a trophy in recognition of their achievement.
