Dolores Morin, 84
Dolores (Dias) Morin, 84, passed away at Alden Court in Fairhaven on March 22, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Roland N. Morin for 56 years.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John and Agnes (Roderick) Dias, she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Morin became deaf at a young age due to complications from a childhood illness. However, she was especially adept at reading lips and went on to graduate from Fisher Junior College and worked for a telephone company for many years.
She and her husband used to love going out dancing on Saturday nights. What Dolores loved most was attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
In addition to her husband, she was the loving mother of Brett J. Morin and his wife Elizabeth, Eric R. Morin and his wife Maura, and Troy R. Morin all of Dartmouth; devoted grandmother of Sarah, Jared, Brendan and Audrey Morin; cousin of Barbara Lombardo, Carol Pavao, and Jocelyn Roderick; sister of the late Richard "Dick" Dias and his wife Natalie of Dartmouth.
Her funeral mass will be held on April 1 at 10 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth, MA 02747 or a charity of one's choice.
