Equality and eggs: UMass hosts its 23rd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast

UMass Dartmouth is hosting its 23rd annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast on Friday, January 31, at 8:30 a.m. in the Marketplace located across from the Campus Center and above the Frederick Douglass Unity House.

The gathering will feature a keynote speech from President and CEO of Embrace Boston Imari K. Paris Jeffries, Ph.D in addition to live musical performances and remarks from Chancellor Mark A. Fuller and university students. 

Jeffries is known for his community organizing and continuous work towards a citywide racial equality effort. His organization Embrace Boston aims to “dismantle structural racism through our work at the intersection of arts and culture, community, and research and policy.” Recently, Jeffries was named one of Boston’s most influential Bostonians by Boston Magazine and the Boston Business Journal’s Power 5.
