An exclusive interview with Santa Claus
We thought we’d have to travel all the way to the North Pole to interview Santa Claus, but to our surprise he was planning to visit Dartmouth at some of the festive favorites like Fill-the-Bus and the Padanaram Holiday Stroll! We finally got to ask him all the questions we have, and we’re going to share it with you.
Q: How do you deliver all the presents in one night?
A: We use a little bit of magic, and we also have been using some nuclear energy. You need a lot of plutonium, and the way I get that, I’m going to have to keep that under the wraps for now.
Q: What’s your favorite Christmas cookie?
A: The next cookie.
Q: Do you really check your list twice?
A: I have some people in a department that do that. My eyes are getting a little older, you can tell by the glasses. So I have some people that are helping me with that. Secretaries, things like that. I have a naughty/nice division. They’re supposed to conduct annual audits.
Q: Do you really give the naughty kids coal?
A: We haven’t been giving coal for a long time now. It's better off that we give just a cold shoulder. But very few kids are on the naughty list, thank God.
Q: How do you know what every kid wants?
A: Again, it’s magic, and a little bit of telepathy.
Q: How do the reindeer fly?
A: It’s all in conjunction with the FAA. We let the watchtowers know, and there are some different propulsion technologies that I can’t reveal.
Q: What is the reindeer’s favorite treat?
A: The reindeer’s favorite treat is always carrots and sugar. Sugar on carrots, they love it.
Q: What would you say to the kids reading this article?
A: Again, be good, be nice, all year long.
