Farm & Coast Market seeking All Liquor License at Town Meeting
With customers requesting they “enhance their product line with hard alcohol,” Farm & Coast Market, located at 7 Bridge Street in Padanaram, is seeking an All Liquor License at Spring Town Meeting, according to Peter Bullard, who spoke at the Select Board meeting Monday, May 6.
“Farm & Coast has been very fortunate,” Bullard said. “Over the last six years or so, it’s been able to develop a good and loyal clientele and would like to expand their liquor offerings.
The business currently has one of the town’s Beer and Wine Licenses. Because the town has reached its capacity for All Liquor Licenses, Farm & Coast must gain approval at Town Meeting and subsequently the approval of the state legislature.
“It's anything but a slam dunk, but it's a way for Farm & Coast to meet the needs of our customer base,” Bullard said.
He added the sales would not include tobacco products, nips or lottery tickets in an effort to “keep our village as clean as possible” as these products can lead to littering.
Bullard said Farm & Coast may be looking to expand itself eastwardly in the future to accommodate not only its crowds, but its additional offerings — if the business were to gain the license.
