Local historian to recount area's fishing legends

The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will host local historian ‘Cukie’ Macomber on January 22 at 6:30 p.m. for a talk on local fishing history and legends.

Macomber, now in his 90s, will present a talk on the maritime history of Westport. Since the 1930s, Macomber has worked closely with local fishermen, providing many with welding and repair services. He will share the personal stories and the most interesting tales he picked up along the way at his talk.

There is a suggested donation of $5 to attend. Refreshments will be served. The talk will be held at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse, 1205 Russells Mills Road.
