Maria De Lourdes Raposo Pacheco Grota, 65, of North Dartmouth, passed away on May 7, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Aurelio F.M. Grota and the daughter of the late Helena Duarte (Raposo) and Jacinto Carvalho Pacheco.  Born in St. Michael, Azores, Lourdes came to the United States and worked as a stitcher for various clothing manufacturers until her retirement.

She is survived by two children, Flavio Pacheco Grota and his wife Diane of Dartmouth, and Fernando Pacheco Grota and his companion Melanie of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Nathan Tyler Grota and Lexi Marie; one sister, Dorvalina Medeiros of New Bedford, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lourdes was also the sister of the late Mariana Raposo Duarte and Natalia Raposo Pavao.

Her funeral is on May 11, beginning in the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford at 8:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is at St. Julie Biliart Church at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be May 10 from 5-8 p.m. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
