Meeting to discuss potential Dias Landing expansion

Jul 19, 2021

A public meeting to discuss to expand Dias Landing will be held at 7 p.m. July 27 at Dartmouth Town Hall, Room 304.

The meeting will address preliminary findings from a feasibility study sent out at the end of 2020. The Waterways Management Commission will also present concepts of the increased dockage.

Last year, the town was awarded a $64,000 award from the state’s Seaport Economic Council for a feasibility study on improving the town-owned boat launch on Gulf Road.

The ideas the study will investigate include several key components of the Padanaram Harbor Management Plan, which contains dozens of recommendations to improve the harbor, the area surrounding it, and the local economy.

If the Waterways Management Commission decides to move forward on the project, funding will be sought through grants for design and construction costs.

A final design is expected to be prepared in 2022 with construction estimated to be completed by 2023.
