New Bedford man arrested for alleged stabbing at Capri Motel

A New Bedford man has been arrested on assault charges following an alleged fight and stabbing at the Capri Motel, at 741 State Road, Wednesday, Aug. 21, according to Dartmouth Police.

Dartmouth Police responded to a call about a fight and possible stabbing from the motel around 12 p.m., locating a man with a stab wound on arrival, police said. The man was transported a hospital for treatment of the “non-life threatening” injury.

The following morning, Isaiah Ventura, 20, of New Bedford, was arrested by detectives from the Community Impact Unity and Dartmouth patrol offices on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), according to police.

With assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Sector and detectives from the Fall River Police Department Major Crimes Division, Dartmouth police were able to locate Ventura in Fall River, according to police.
