A New Bedford man was found unresponsive in a crashed vehicle near a Russells Mills Road daycare on June 5, and later determined to be under the influence of drugs.

Dartmouth Police responded to the area of Crayon Campus, located at 5 Russells Mills Road around 2:15 p.m., where officers found a 2006 Dodge Caravan resting against a tree, police said.

Behind the wheel was Glenroy Hensley, 46. Emergency responders administered Narcan, a drug that reverses the effects of opiates, police said.

Officers learned that Hensley had an active warrant for drug related offenses out of Fall River District Court. Additionally, officers located a pill believed to be Klonopin (an anti-epileptic drug) and a Suboxone strip (used to treat opiate addiction) while searching Hensley, police said.

Hensley was evaluated at St. Luke's Hospital, and transported to Dartmouth Police headquarters to be booked. He was then transported to the Bristol County House of Corrections facility on Ash Street in New Bedford for further processing, police said.

Police charged Hensley with operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, marked lanes violation, and possession of Class B and Class C drugs.

Class B drugs include amphetamines, codeine, and cannabis. Class C drugs include tranquilizers, anabolic steroids, and ketamine.
