Police are looking for a woman who threatened to bomb the Dartmouth police station, and caused New Bedford City Hall to be evacuated last week.

Heather Perkins, whose last known residence is 199 East Clinton Street in New Bedford, allegedly threatened to bomb the Dartmouth station on July 23, around 4:30 p.m., via a Facebook message, said Detective Kyle Costa.

“We already knew the threat itself wasn’t credible because New Bedford had received one from the same individual,” Costa said. Police continued regular monitoring of activity coming in and out of the station in response, he added.

The message mimicked two threats sent to New Bedford City Hall on July 21, which caused the building’s evacuation. Perkins is wanted in connection to a series of violent threats, which have been sent to nearly 25 police departments, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Bridgewater State University, and Springfield College, police said.

According to New Bedford Police, Perkins is 5 feet and four inches tall, weighs about 147 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Another prior address includes 116 Ruth Street, New Bedford.
