As many readers observed, our DartmouthWeekToday.com website was offline for much of last weekend. Alas, it is a big, interconnected world – and some things are out of our small company’s control.

Early Saturday afternoon, the large cloud-computing service that hosts our websites experienced a “critical storage failure,” prompting an outage longer than anything previously experienced with this web host. Left in the dark were DartmouthWeekToday.com, sister sites SippicanWeekToday.com and WarehamWeekToday.com – and dozens of sites operated by much larger companies, organizations and government agencies.

Round-the-clock tech work at the cloud-computing service had things up and running again by Sunday evening. Some fast work by the Dartmouth Week staff had coverage of most of the weekend events up on the site by Monday morning. Read on!
