Results from the September 4 primary election

Not as many Dartmouth voters took to the polls as in past elections. Only 3,246 out of Dartmouth’s 21,815 registered voters -- 14.88 percent -- got out to vote in the state primary election on September 4.

Locally, State Rep. Christopher Markey (D-Dartmouth) earned 1,656 votes. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, and does not not have a Republican challenger.

There were several contested races in both the Democrat and Republican ballots. Here is how Dartmouth voted in the contested races:
