Richard M. Kehoe, 82
Richard M. Kehoe, 82, of Dartmouth died Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of Maureen A. (Osborne) Kehoe, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Hugh and Elsie (Chapman) Kehoe, he was raised in Fall River and lived in Dartmouth for many years.
Dick was a graduate of Durfee High School, where he played football and was later inducted to their Hall of Fame. He then graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and later received his Masters Degree from the University of Bridgeport, where he coached football and baseball.
In 1966, Dick enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and attended the Vietnamese Language School in Washington, DC. He was then sent to Vietnam where he worked as an interpreter and interregator until his honorable discharge from the service in 1969.
Upon returning from Vietnam, Dick began his teaching and football coaching career which spanned over thirty years. He began as a teacher and football coach at Foxboro High School, then New Bedford High School, and finally at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, where he was both a teacher and athletic director. He was also the proprietor of Kehoe Moving, Inc. for many years.
Dick enjoyed golfing, cruising with his wife, and playing poker every week with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; two daughters, Kathleen Lee and her husband Brian and Jennifer LeTourneau; and five grandchildren, Jack, Bridget, Evan, and Aiden Lee, and Katie LeTourneau.
He was predeceased by his sister, Jane Kehoe Summers.
