The closed Busters Sports Bar and Grill building on State Road finally has a new occupant — Riko’s Pizza, a thin-crust pizza chain based in Connecticut. 

The new business put up signage earlier this fall. The new franchise location is owned by William Delgado, “a passionate restauranteur,” according to an email from Riko’s Pizza. 

The pizza chain will open its doors in early 2024, and will announce specific dates and grand opening celebrations as the next year begins. 

The State Road location will be the first Riko’s in Massachusetts. 

“Stepping into Massachusetts feels like a natural next move for us, and we were particularly drawn to Dartmouth for its vibrant energy and the strong sense of community,” read an email from a Riko’s Pizza spokesperson, attributed to Chief Operating Officer Luigi Cardillo, Jr. “Our new location on State Road, just a stone's throw from UMass Dartmouth and conveniently near I-195, is in a building with a rich history as a local dining favorite.”

Riko’s serves thin-crust, “tavern-style” pizza, along with beer and cocktails. The restaurant will offer dine-in, takeout and delivery orders.
