Special Education Parent Advisory Council recognizes students and staff

The Special Education Parent Advisory Council, or SEPAC, recognized a list of students and staff for going “above and beyond” in their relationships with special education students at a School Committee meeting on May 24.

Those recognized were nominated by responders to the council’s annual survey.

“Staff were nominated for making a difference in the lives of their students in a way that supports and values individual needs,” said School Committee Member and SEPAC President Kathleen Amaral. “Patience and kindness were common themes, along with making students feel safe, and supported.”

Amaral added that students were recognized for their leadership, kindness, and friendship.

The students and staff who were recognized is as follows (student grade levels in parenthesis):
