St. Julie Billiart Parish rehomes treasures at used jewelry sale
The St. Julie Billiart Parish was filled with tables of treasure waiting to be found at its annual jewelry sale on Saturday, April 30.
Fifteen women from St. Julies Ladies Guild lend their time to putting on the event each year, sorting through, labeling, and packaging the jewelry to be sold, said Isabel Medeiros, the fundraising chairperson for the Guild.
Categories ranged from vintage to costume jewelry, with prices as low as 5 cents.
St. Julie’s annual jewelry sale is big enough that donations are accepted year round. The Ladies Guild holds other fundraisers, such as the sweet bread sale, lobster roll and chowder dinner, and meat pie sale. The proceeds from all the events are funneled into scholarships as well as gifts for needy families at Christmastime and the Dartmouth Manor nursing home.
Donations for the next jewelry sale are being accepted.
