St. Peter's to host a 'death exchange'

Oct 31, 2016

The area's first "Death Exchange," a monthly discussion group to end the stigma and taboo about death and dying and to stimulate discussions about living fully, is coming to Dartmouth on Wednesday, November 9 from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

The Dartmouth “Death Exchange,” similar in structure to the worldwide Death Café momement, will be hosted by The Bridge: A Center for Hope and Healing at 351 Elm Street. The free event is open to the public.

There is no set agenda for a Death Exchange and topics often include talking about the sacred art of dying, how to companion a dying person, advanced care directives, what happens to the body in death, grieving, and burial rituals. People are encouraged to bring their life experience and questions to the discussion group.

The Death Exchange is being organized by Jennifer Marszalek, LICSW, a local therapist and staff member at The Bridge. For more information, call (508) 997-0903.
