Stang students collect more than two tons of food for local pantries

Oct 26, 2020

Student members of Bishop Stang High School’s National Honor Society recently held their annual Rock-a-Thon to help area food pantries ease local families’ food insecurity.

While the format no longer allowed for students alternating rocking in rocking chairs, students still received and weighed food donations over a two-day period as people stopped by to drop off food.

According to a release, by the end of the drive, students collected more than two tons of food that will be distributed this week to local pantries at St. Anthony's Church in New Bedford and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
