A successful day of recycling

Sep 13, 2025

The Reuse, Repair, and Shred Day held on Saturday, Sept. 6 was deemed a success by Dartmouth Recycling, which organized the event.

There were 200 cars dropping off paper to be shredded, 55 bikes to be repaired and distributed to the community, six bikes were repaired and sewers mended 24 articles of clothing and bags.

For drop offs, 105 cars dropped off a total of 1,000 pounds of clothing, 56 dehumidifiers and over a truckload of reusable furniture to be distributed to those in need.

There were many people who made this event possible, such as many City of New Bedford organizations like New Bedford Public Schools and NBCU, companies who focus on recycling and repair as well as local menders.
