Sunrise Bakery up for sale
A beloved Bliss Corner institution is now on the market.
In a Facebook post on Jan. 24, Sunrise Bakery owners Manny Amaral, Inez Pacheco, and Joe Amaral announced that they plan to sell the business. The owners stressed that its Dartmouth and New Bedford locations are “not closing.”
“There will be changes and we will keep you informed,” it read. “Thank You for your continued support and loyalty. We are privileged to serve you and look forward to continuing to see you all.”
According to Fun107, there is a potential buyer, though it is unclear if an offer has been made.
The bakery, known for its linguica rolls and fresh-baked pastries, was first opened at a strip mall on Russells Mills Road in 1980 and moved to its current spot at 571 Dartmouth Street in the 1990s.
