Take a hike.

The Lloyd Center for the Environment’s Earth Day Night Hike begins at 6:30 p.m. at the center, 430 Potomska Road.  The cost is $6 for members, $8 for non-members, $18 for a family of four members and $24 for a family of four non-members. For more information and to register, visit lloydcenter.org.

Clean up with DNRT...

Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust hosts a cleanup at Ridge Hill Reserve from 9-11 a.m. The agenda includes roadside cleaning of Collins Corner Road, along with a cleanup of the nearby natural gas easement. Depending on turnout, invasive species removal may also be conducted. Equipment is provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring a pair of gardening or work gloves.

Pick up special trash bags and clean up anywhere around town on Green Up Day. During regular business hours, pick up a free trash bag in advance at the Department of Public Works office at 759 Russells Mills Road. Trash pickup will be on April 24 at Allen Street and Tucker Road; Faunce Corner Road and Old Fall River Road; Dartmouth High; the Russells Mills Landing on Horseneck Road; and at the Dartmouth Youth Activities Association on Russells Mills Road.

Shop for a cause.

St. Julie's Ladies Guild's jewelry sale runs from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the St. Julie Billiart Church Hall, 494 Slocum Road. The guild sells used, new, vintage, fine, and designer jewelry, as well as jewelry boxes, purses, and evening bags.

Chill out.

Join Jessica Webb, owner of Anchor Yoga and Meditation, for a meditative walk through Smith Farm, 355 Smith Neck Road from 1-2 p.m. The walk is slow with a mindful pace and in social silence. All fitness levels welcome. For more information, visit savebuzzardsbay.org.

Grow your garden.

Helfand Farm Community Gardens will hold a plant swap and seedling sale at the Gardens at 318 Chase Road from 10 a.m.-12p.m. Gardeners are invited to bring plants and cuttings to exchange.  Seedlings for sale will include lettuce mix, spinach, kale and scallions. All money raised will benefit the Gardens. Coffee and light snacks will be available.  Also planned is a hands-on demonstration of pollinator seed balls to make and take home.

Sunday, April 23

Remember the Holocaust.

Tifereth Israel Synagogue will observe Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Day of Remembrance, starting with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at the Holocaust Memorial in Buttonwood Park. After a service and a candle-lit walk back to the synagogue, Rabbi Joseph Polak leads a program dedicated to the late Elie Wiesel. Polak is one of the last witnesses to the Shoah and one of the youngest. He's a child survivor of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.

Play ball.

Dartmouth Youth Activities Association's Junior Home Run Derby starts with registration at 11 a.m. The contest starts at 1 p.m. Sponsored by Major League Baseball, participants will need a birth certificate to enter. The champion will advance to the regionals in New Jersey.

Jim Costa presents his talk on the history of Dartmouth’s Cedar Dell Springs, 6:30-8 p.m. at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse, 1205 Russells Mills Road.

Monday, April 24

Go vote.

Polls for each fire district's Prudential Committee, which oversees their respective district’s finances, opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m.

Mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Providence College's Dr. Arthur Urbano will lead a discussion on the Holocaust at 4 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Woodland Commons building, 285 Old Westport Road.
